O2 Announcement for iOS - 'EU Internet' button stops roaming

O2 has announced that the EU Internet function added to iOS 8 which allows customers to use a local internet connection rather than data roaming is not a supported feature of their network. O2 explain that at this time there are only 2 EU countries that support this feature and there is no plans currently for O2 to support this feature.

"Please be advised to keep the option switched off (the default setting), as enabling this will disallow any data connectivity to and from the device".

To switch this option off on your handset, you will just need to go through the following menu options on your iPhone;

1

  1. Settings
  2. Mobile data
  3. Mobile data options
  4. Data roaming
  5. EU internet – Switch off.
Once you have carried out the above steps, you should switch your handset off and and to complete the process. You should then have roaming access to the internet. If you still do not, it might be worth calling the network to see if any roaming bar has been placed on the account.
