O2 Wi-Fi calling: New devices now availble for service
Some of you may already be taking advantage of the new service by O2 that allows you to make and receive O2 calls via local Wi-Fi hotspots. However, this was limited to a set amount of handsets., The main reason is that a network has to setup the service, tailored for each manufacturer This takes time and money. The good news is that their list has just doubled! Details of the availble devices that will allow you to make Wi-Fi calls are below;
- Samsung Galaxy S7
- Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
- iPhone 6s
- iPhone 6s Plus
- iPhone SE
For Samsung users the criteria is a little bit more;
- A Samsung S7 or S7 Edge that was bought directly from O2, either online, in-store or over the phone or a phone that has the O2 firmware variant
- The latest software version installed on their device
- The service provisioned by adding the service code
This is the same with the Apple users;
For iPhone 6s / 6s Plus / SE devices customers will need:
- An iPhone 6s, 6s Plus or SE with iOS 10.3.x installed from iTunes
- The latest O2 devices carrier settings. Visit Settings > General > About to update to the latest settings
- WiFi and 4G Calling enabled in the handset settings
- To be connected to the WiFi and 4G Calling service code
