VODAFONE ROAMING: Network changes worldwide roaming rates and countries

On 28 March 2019 Vodafone are making changes to their roaming services. Will this affect you? Only if you use one of the following business plans;
Red, Red+, 4G Red, Your Bundle, Standard Bundle, Red Bundle, Red Value Bundle, Essentials, Red Extra and Red Entertainment plans (with or without One Net Anywhere)
With the network changes, you will be able to use your UK plan abroad in more destinations abroad. The network are also reducing some of their standard roaming charges in various destinations outside of Europe. However, it is not all great news! Some countries are coming off their worldwide list, with some roaming changes resulting in higher costs for some UK businesses.

The network has gone on to announce that some countries will be jumping zones. Traveling to most destinations will be cheaper. However, there will be a small increase in some destinations. Find out which below;

The network has included an online link that will give you a full list of destinations and their roaming zones here.
What countries have jumped zones?
Well, two of them are Albania and Bosnia & Herzegovina. These have moved from Europe Zone 2 to Rest of World Zone 1. The link below will go into further detail.

Data Traveller will be ending!

For those that rely on this bolt-on for data usage outside of Europe, the networks changes are not all good. They have announced that this will be removed from the end of March. Customers who currently have Data Traveller will see the service removed from 28 March 2019. After this point, the use of data or the internet will be charged at the cost per MB rates shown in the table above.

Vodafone Global Roaming for all!

Vodafone Global Roaming has been a Worldwide travelers friend for quite a while. This bolt-on lays dormant on your account till you use your handsets in certain countries outside of Europe. The bolt-on allows you to take your home allowance of data, minutes and texts to their Roam-free destinations at no extra cost, and to their Roam-further destinations for just £5 a day (Remember business users, this does exclude VAT) on the days you use your phone while you’re away. If you don’t already have Vodafone Global Roaming and are on one of the Consumer price plans listed at the top of this page, Vodafone has stated that it will be added to the business account automatically from 28 March 2019.

42 Rest of World destinations will become Roam-further destinations

As mentioned, Vodafone are also moving Albania and Bosnia & Herzegovina from Roam-free to Roam-further, so usage in these destinations will be now be charged at £5 a day on the days the user makes a call, text or goes online.
