Nokia are finally here! New Nokia 6
The news that all of you Nokia fans have been waiting for, the release of their first Android handset since their announcement of coming back into the smartphone industry. After their previous experience with the consumer industry, we were pleasantly surprised, albeit a little shocked that Nokia would be giving the on and off relationship with the public user a second chance.
After we all abandoned them back in 2014 for the Samsung Android devices, as well as Apple, we all thought that Nokia had washed their hands of us!
Forgive and forget
It looks like Nokia has placed this behind them and are looking into the future with their new handsets announced at the CES 2017 in Las Vagas last week. To ensure a successful entry back into the Market, Nokia has chosen to only launch in China.
This might be a wise decision, knowing how faithful China was to Nokia when they were at their peak in the nineties and early naughties (any other terminology for the 2000 to 2010 is welcome, as not very much a fan of this term).
China was one of their highest importers of the Nokia handsets, being the largest source of profits from this period.
What will be in the new Nokia 6?
The new device is packing a decent punch as it enters their highly competitive market, with Nougat 7.0 straight from the factory line, the handset will be sporting the new and latest Android platform. From previous talks from Nokia, we are also expecting the appearance of their Android interface, the Z launcher. before I go on, I should add that you can already experience this interface via a download available on the Play store. I have included a link for this below;
Click here to test Nokia's new interface for the Android platform:
With the Snapdragon 430 chipset octa-core Cortex-A53, Adreno 505 GPU and an ample 4GB of RAM,t he device is promising to no let us down on performance. It’s built around a 5.5” 1080p screen that has a curved 2.5D Gorilla Glass sheet on top.
When you link this with the aluminium unibody carved from a single solid block of 6000 series aluminium,t he handset proves to be equally premium in feel.
It looks like Nokia have placed a lot of thought into this
Nokia has announced that the Nokia 6 will debut exclusively through JD.com in China in "early 2017". It will retail for around £220.
