EE Tariff increases: Inflation of 2.5% RPI

After hearing about O2's prices increaesing, the same has happened with EE. This was expected with UK inflation rates and lets not all forget, BREXIT and the impacts it is having on network romaing regulations and as well as the UK rate.

EE has announced that from 29th March 2017 they will be increasing the price of contracts in line with the Retail Price Index (RPI), which currently stands at 2.5%*.

Who is affected by RPI?

For all the small business client who signed up, renewed or upgraded after the 26th March 2014 have already agreed to a line rental increase each March. This was part of the EE contract signed. THe O2 network who have also just ireased their rates by a slightly higher mount at 2.6% are saying the same thing.

The rules are similar to any small business user who joined, renewed or upgraded before 26th March 2014. These are will be on the older legacy tariffs, out of contract and old terms and conditions. If you fall under this category, you will still receive the RPI increase. This means all customers will receive increases at the same time of the year and at the same rate, reducing the previous years’ complexity. Please note these customers will not receive an RPI increase later in 2017.

The RPI specifically impacts customers on the following plans

  • Small Business pay monthly EE, Orange or T-Mobile phone plans
  • Small Business 4GEE WiFi and Orange or T-Mobile Mobile Broadband plans
  • Corporate customers on a Small Business or Consumer plan

Please note, EE's Home Broadband customers will not be affected.

When will you be contacted?

Small Business customers will have been contacted by 13th February 2017 via text message or letter to confirm the price increase, and the options that they have.

Corporate customers impacted will be contacted by letter week commencing 20th February 2017.
