O2 Tu Go: Make calls when you have no signal!

Have you ever gone to make a phone call, only to find you have less signal than an old ham radio! Well, this is what the clever clogs at O2 have been thinking. So far... If you are a business client with any of the leading networks, their solution has been a device known as a boost box that plugs into your work or home broadband and allows you to pipe your calls via the landline broadband.

However, this only helps with these locations

If you are at a meeting with a client, you can not be expected to bring your boost box with you! Along with then calling the network to re-register the device at the new location! No, this would not be a great solution. Stuck on the mobile, while your client walks away! Again, O2 have been thinking exactly the same thing!

Great minds think alike!

With their new Tu Go app, you are able to make calls or text via any Wi-Fi hotspot that you are connected to. As long as the data speeds are there, you will be back to normal service. Before you say anything, both Vodafone and EE offer this service to selected clients and via the handsets themselves, without having to download an app. However, with O2s Tu Go, if you lose your handset, you can install the app to your laptop or tablet to continue making and receiving calls!

This is something that Vodafone and EE just don't offer!

So far, the reviews have been very good with the odd report about the app interfering with the voicemail setup on the handset it is installed on. However, O2 are pushing through updates to the app all the time and so should have this issue fixed in no time!
