Phishing emails from O2 and Vodafone "Your bill is ready"

Many businesses have received fraudulent emails, claiming to be from O2 and asking the user to login to make payment: DON'T DO THIS!!!

O2 is receiving reports that a number of O2 customers, as well as non-O2 customers, have received a "Phishing" email purporting to be from O2. The message includes details of billing amounts and directs the customer to a fake O2 website, on which they were asked to enter their login details.

DO NOT CLICK ON THE LINKS!! O2 did not send these messages.

If you do receive this mail, then don't worry. I have even received one myself and can gladly say that my computer is still clean of viruses. As long as you delete it straight away and don't click on the links, you will be ok.

The main clue to tell if you have received a fake email is by looking at the source of the email, as seen in the image below;

If you wish, you can report the email directly to O2 via phishing@o2.com. You can also find out more information on their website - http://www.o2.co.uk/help/safety-and-security/fraud-and-phishing-advice

This has also occured with Vodafone bills. EVen though you may not be witht he nework, fake emails with owed amounts are making the rounds within business emails.

As of yet, Vodafone have not announced any warnings to this.
