APP REVIEW: O2 My Network signal checker

Ever wanted to find out what your signal is like in an area for calls, text, music streaming or even Netflix? Well O2 have been thinking about the same thing! With their new App now available on Android and Apple (Windows to hopefully be released soon...), the app will allow you to test your network where ever you are!

My Network is a new and very clever little app for O2 customers (Business and normal).

It allows you understand what network coverage you have, any potential service outages, report issues and carry out speed tests. The speed test screen runs three tests (http download, http upload, ping). 

When completed it will upload the results to the server and finally display the results with a textual description of what the connection is good for, example email, downloading or video streaming.

Historical results can also be viewed. You must have either 4G, 3G or a WiFi connection to use the app, as the content is served from the web and not stored locally on the phone.

With the My Network app you can:

1. Get up to the minute status updates for your area based on the location of your device
2. Test your network speeds
3. Report issues with your service through the app in a simple way

It’s simple to use and means that you can check the network without having to visit the main site or even enter a postcode.
